The annual cash scholarship distribution to high school girl children from low income families took place in Panaiyur and Kannagi Nagar near Chennai. The latter place houses one of the largest slum redevelopment colonies in India. Students who obtained more than 90% in their Class X examinations were given an additional prize money.
